Rausing shows faith in Ocado

Ocado non-executive director Jörn Rausing – a member of the Swedish Tetra Pak dynasty — was in the buyers’ circle back in March, when he snapped up £16.3m-worth of shares.

He continues to build his stake, adding another tranche worth in the region of £25.9m on May 7.

We may have to wait to see if his confidence is justified. Ocado Retail, a joint venture between Ocado and Marks and Spencer, has seen increased sales volumes and order sizes, but it will be instructive to find what will happen to online grocery sales once the economy is unfettered.
