Royal facialist Daiva Kamysova's yoga facelift revealed

A London facialist who has treated the likes of Lady Amelia Windsor has revealed the two simple steps for recreating her £150 facial from the comfort of your own home.

Daiva Kamysova’s signature treatment – dubbed the ‘yoga facelift’ – works by sculpting your face from the inside out, releasing tension and draining the lymphatic system, as well as exercising the muscles which lifts the cheekbones and jawline.

Daiva counts a slew of royals and A-listers among her clients, while even the Duchess of Sussex has extolled the virtues of facial yoga in the past.

Explaining the process to Femail, Daiva said: ‘Through deep lymphatic massage and contouring techniques you can lift the facial muscles and create a fresh radiant look to the skin.

‘The inner mouth massage not only releases tension in the muscle tissue, but helps to firm, tone and sculpt the face.’

She added: ‘It takes only one session to really see a difference, however I recommend clients to have at least 2-3 sessions, to see best results.’

Daiva was born in Lithuania before training as a make-up artist and continuing her studies in Paris and London.

Having won three make-up awards she switched her focus to performing facials, honing the technique over a 13-year period.

Speaking about the DIY technique and its famous fans, she added: ‘Meghan has been a fan of the yoga facial for years and in the last year, other royals and A-listers are following her footsteps as the natural process works instantly.’

Crediting it as a surgery-free lift, she added: ‘Celebrities are opting for the yoga facial as muscle manipulation is not only natural it’s also cheaper and healthier than surgery.

‘The yoga facial leaves people with healthy and glowing skin and not a frozen tight look, like treatments such as Botox and fillers can cause.

How the yoga facial works

‘This deep tissue sculptural massage is an anti-gravity method designed to lift the face, strengthen your muscles and reduce unnecessary sagging of the skin,’ says Daiva.

The method works with the three sculptural lines of the face:

1. Sculptural jaw line

‘This lifts sagging cheeks, aligns the chin area, and achieves straight lines.

2. Sculptural cheekbone lines

‘This lifts facial contours, highlights and accentuates the cheekbones for a more defined profile.

3. Sculptural eyebrow lines

‘This helps to combat the signs of sagging eyelids.

The facial is done in two phases:

1. The sculptural phase

‘During the sculptural phase, the muscles of the face are being manipulated from above.

2. The deep tissue phase

‘During the deep tissue phase the muscles are massaged from within the mouth.’

‘It’s become a favourite treatment as there is now a general understanding that the facial muscles need just as much exercise as our body. If we don’t manipulate our facial muscles as regularly as we exercise, then our skin will begin to sag.’

Meghan previously revealed she visits British facialist Nichola Joss for the massage, revealing: ‘I do facial exercises from one of my favorite aestheticians who basically has you sculpt your face from the inside out.

‘I swear it works, as silly as you may feel. On the days I do it, my cheekbones and jawline are way more sculpted.’

How to perform the DIY Yoga Facial by Daiva Kamysova

Step 1

Technique: ‘Mimicking the muscles of the face, use oil or cream to massage the outside of the face with thorough movements of the fingers. Do this for 5-10 minutes.

Result: ‘Shortly after the first massage procedure, your face should feel lifted and your 3 sculptural lines will now be properly adjusted.

Step 2: The deep tissue phase

Technique: ‘Wearing gloves, use your fingers to thoroughly massage the muscles inside the oral cavity and around the mouth, moving from one of the attachment points to the other.

‘As the inner muscles become relaxed, you will notice that it easier to capture the inner muscle region and stretch the mouth from both sides. Do this for 5-10 minutes.

Result: ‘Your mouth and jaw should feel strangely flexible, as your muscles are now fully relaxed. Not only will you have an improved lymphatic flow, you will also see an improvement in your muscle tone and complexion.

‘Combining these techniques leads to an effective non-surgical facelift.

‘This natural process, not only lifts and hardens the muscles it also connects you to your emotional state, as massaging the inner muscles eliminates lymphatic blockage which therefore reduces stress and anxiety.’
