Sixteen Inland schools win California’s top award – Press-Enterprise

Sixteen Inland public schools have been honored as Distinguished Schools for their quality and achievements.

They are among 162 middle and high schools announced Monday, Feb. 25, as Distinguished School award winners by State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond.

The program honors campuses with outstanding education programs and practices that have led to exceptional student performance for two consecutive school years or closed the achievement gap between two school years, a news release states.

The Inland area winners are, in Riverside County:

  • Corona Fundamental Intermediate School
  • Western Center Academy, Hemet
  • Nuview Bridge Early College High School
  • Riverside Virtual School
  • San Jacinto Leadership Academy
