The app lets users scan a bill using an AR Lense and shows them exactly where the money will be allocated, whether it is to families in need or healthcare workers battling the virus on the frontlines.

The lenses — which are available in 33 different countries — have been launched in partnership with the United Nations Foundation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund in support of the work of the World Health Organization.

Snapchat users can access the new lens via either the lens carousel, by using Scan or via Snapcode — and it works with over 23 different currencies.

WHAT IS SOCIAL DISTANCING?

Social distancing is a term used by health authorities to help slow the spread of coronavirus by keeping an appropriate distance between people.

Australian health authorities recommend at least 1.5 metres between each person at all times.

This is because coronavirus can be transmitted by:

  • Coughing
  • Sneezing
  • Being in the same space for a long period
  • Touching the same surface

Social distancing also refers to limiting physical contact with each other as much as possible which has led to authorities encouraging people to work from home, avoid crowded spaces and public transport as much as possible.
