S&P affirms U.S. credit ratings, keeps stable outlook


The U.S.’s “AA+” long-term and “A-1+” short-term sovereign credit ratings are affirmed by S&P Global Ratings; outlook remains stable.

Outlook reflects S&P’s “expectation that unprecedented fiscal and monetary stimulus will limit the economic downturn and set the stage for recovery in 2021.”

Sees negative and positive rating factors for the U.S. as balanced over the next two years.
