Standalone EV service centre for Aberdeen – AM

Plan have been approved for a standalone service centre in Aberdeen for an unnamed global car manufacturer with electric cars in its range.

Property agent Knight Frank submitted a change of use application for the Axis building in Wellington Circle, noting that prior to its operation as offices since 2006 it had been a Glenvarigill Peugeot dealership.

It said this will be the car brand’s first ever service centre opened in the north-east of Scotland.

The plans show the 3,400 square metre site will have three service ramps, an electric car battery removal bay, and an indoor customer collection point.

The reception area will have space to display one car.

Most premium brands with electric cars are already represented in Aberdeen.

Tesla currently has a sales executive based in the Aberdeen area, where dealers often benefit from sales to workers in the oil and energy industries, but the nearest actual Tesla store is in Edinburgh.
