State Pension top up: Can you top up missed National Insurance contributions?

Those that fall under the new State Pension are men born on or after 6 April 1951 and women born on or after 6 April 1953.

The current voluntary contribution rate is again £15.30 per week.

Since 6 April 2019, the cost of plugging missing weeks’ of National Insurance contributions between 2006 and April 2017 has been £15 and now £15.30 per week.

Before April 2019, the rate depended on the year in question.

To top up gaps from 2018/19 and 2019/20, the cost is £14.65 and £15 respectively.
