Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Episil-Precision Inc (TW:), which rose 10.00% or 3.70 points to trade at 40.70 at the close. Asia Pacific Telecom Co Ltd (TW:) added 9.95% or 0.60 points to end at 6.63 and GeoVision Inc (TW:) was up 9.89% or 2.35 points to 26.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Green Energy Technology Inc (TW:), which lost 9.88% or 0.75 points to trade at 6.84 in late trade. ADLINK Technology Inc (TW:) declined 3.59% or 1.20 points to end at 32.20 and Chaintech Technology Corp (TW:) shed 3.47% or 1.05 points to 29.25.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 406 to 383 and 115 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.59% or 0.85 to $54.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.36% or 0.85 to hit $63.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.11% or 1.40 to trade at $1222.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.17% to 30.908, while TWD/CNY rose 0.09% to 0.2236.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 96.59.
