The perfect job involves a 26-hour week and a salary of £44,000 a year, study finds

The poll of 2,000 workers also found a well-organised space, friendly colleagues and a good location are among the most important things about a workplace.

A 17-minute commute, a pleasant view from the office window and 29 days a holiday a year are also key.

But a career that takes you out and about is equally as popular as a desk-based role (33 percent), while one in ten would prefer a more physical job.

Benefits such as discounts at local gyms or sports clubs, and “duvet days” on request, would also be a must.

Andrew Wood, spokesman for Raja Workplace, which commissioned the survey, said: “It’s very important to work somewhere that aligns with your lifestyle and values its employee’s needs.

“There are so many different things employers must take into consideration when designing a workplace and environment for their employees.

“From comfy chairs, to the layout of the office, and ensuring the office is stocked with plenty of tea and coffee – it’s clear from the survey results these are all things employees value within their work space.”

The survey also found that a third believe they are currently working in their dream job.

And a further 89 percent agree there are multiple different factors that contribute to a perfect role.

Nice decoration, clean desks and good storage are among the things that make up a perfect working environment.

While seven in ten admitted that how well an office is organised has a strong influence on their productivity levels.

Nearly three-quarters (72 percent) also prefer a tidy desk, rather than one cluttered with their belongings.

As many as 95 percent think the atmosphere in the workplace is very important when it comes to job satisfaction.

And 36 percent of those polled, via OnePoll, feel the company culture is more crucial than the salary.

Andrew Wood added: “It’s great to see so many people already believe they have found their dream job as work is such a huge part of our modern lives.

“It’s no wonder a clean, tidy and well-organised space is so sought after for employees, when it can impact their productivity levels so much.

“No matter what industry you work in, from office-based, to studio or warehouse based, we expect organisation and the environment will continue to be one of the most important requirements in a workplace.”
