Southport, NY (WENY) — Chemung County Sheriff’s Deputy Dave Padgett was doing his routine patrol duties in Southport when, while heading south on Pennsylvania avenue, near Rolling Acres Rd. a large tree fell onto the road. Deputy Padgett wasn’t able to stop before a part of the tree fell right on top of the patrol car. The tree had done such significant damage that Deputy Padgett had to crawl out of the driver’s side window. Luckily he did not sustain serious injuries, however Deputy Padgett was transported to St. Josephs to be treated for minor injuries.
