Biggest losers included 3M Company (NYSE:), which lost 1.28% or 2.17 points to trade at 167.66 in late trade. Boeing Co (NYSE:) declined 0.94% or 3.31 points to end at 347.90 and Exxon Mobil Corp (NYSE:) shed 0.86% or 0.60 points to 69.06.
The top performers on the S&P 500 were AutoZone Inc (NYSE:) which rose 6.79% to 1250.00, NortonLifeLock Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 3.46% to settle at 26.28 and Advance Auto Parts Inc (NYSE:) which gained 3.03% to close at 156.17.
The worst performers were Franklin Resources Inc (NYSE:) which was down 4.37% to 25.84 in late trade, Mohawk Industries Inc (NYSE:) which lost 3.85% to settle at 133.54 and Cboe Global Markets Inc (NYSE:) which was down 3.29% to 115.72 at the close.
The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Technical Communications (NASDAQ:) which rose 308.16% to 8.000, Lmp Automotive Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 75.54% to settle at 13.92 and Venus Concept Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 73.67% to close at 5.21.
The worst performers were Francescas Holdings (NASDAQ:) which was down 37.27% to 12.44 in late trade, Conns Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 33.41% to settle at 13.65 and Advaxis Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 21.51% to 0.6397 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1406 to 1399 and 103 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 1428 rose and 1222 declined, while 80 ended unchanged on the New York Stock Exchange.

EUR/USD was up 0.01% to 1.1093, while USD/JPY rose 0.05% to 108.75.
