Alexandru Otrazev, fresh from the ride-share company Uber, will be joining PayIt, which offers digital services and payment solutions for state and local government, as chief marketing officer.
PayIt, a startup that helps government digitize services and accept payments online, has hired Uber’s head of search and experimentation to lead its marketing efforts.
Launched in 2013, PayIt has seen traction in recent years. In 2017, it signed a contract with Kansas to build digital services for the state. Earlier this year, the company secured a $100 million investment from the New York firm Insight Partners — a sizable capital raise by gov tech standards.
“I believe that by improving accessibility to government services, we can improve the quality of life for many,” Otrezov said in the statement.
PayIt’s headquarters are in Kansas City, Mo., but Otrezov will be based in San Francisco.
