VIRGIN Media TV and internet is down for thousands of customers, ruining their chance to watch the rugby Six Nations 2020 England versus Ireland game.
Outage tracker Downdetector is reporting more than 2,500 complaints from Virgin Media customers as of just before 4pm.
The majority of the outage reports appear to be coming from the south of the UK including London, Portsmouth and Bournemouth.
Frustrated customers have since taken to Twitter to complain about their lack of TV and internet.
Tweeting a picture of the blurry rugby match on their TV, one user said: “So much for chilling this Sunday.”
While someone else said: “I can’t watch the rugby. Why is this happening?”
Another customer said: “My TV is pixelating badly on all channels.
“Have checked 0800 number previously suggested and told no issues in my area but judging from other tweets today there obviously is.”
Someone else posted: “Live in South-East TV down. As others have said right in the middle of the Rugby. Unhappy household.
“Internet and landline phone also appear down.”
Another user said: “What’s going on? My TV and internet are down. You won’t even answer on 150 to get status update just says we are busy?”
Responding to several tweets this afternoon, Virgin Media said it’s aware of an issue but has yet to reveal how many of its services are affected.
The service provider has also yet to say what is causing the outage.
We’ve contacted Virgin Media for more information and we’ll update this article as soon as we get a response.
Meanwhile, the service update page on the Virgin Media website is currently down “for essential changes”.
A message on the page reads: “We’re doing some work on My Virgin Media at the moment as part of an upgrade to provide you with an even better service.
“We’re sorry this part of the site isn’t available at the moment. Everything will be back to normal again soon, so please come back and try again shortly.”
It’s not just Virgin Media customers who have been struggling with connectivity issues lately.
