WestJet adds two more U.S. destinations

WestJet is expanding its U.S. presence with new flights from Portland, Oregon, and Austin, Texas.

The new cities will give Canada’s No. 2 carrier a total of 23 U.S. destinations. WestJet also recently announced plans for nonstop flights to Atlanta from its hub in Calgary.

Portland flights will begin April 29, when WestJet begins offering daily service to its hub in Calgary. Austin-Calgary flights start May 2, with WestJet offering twice-weekly service.

The two new routes – both seasonal – were unveiled as WestJet rolled out its summer schedule. Also new to the schedule will be seasonal nonstop flights between Edmonton, Alberta, and St. John’s in Newfoundland and Labrador.
