A FURIOUS Whirlpool customer has shared a video of smoke pouring from her washing machine after the model WASN’T marked as a safety risk on their recently released list of faulty machines.
Teacher Vicci Marshall who shared the clip to Twitter on Sunday urged Whirlpool customers to check their machines.
Taking to Twitter, Vicci wrote: “Whirlpool have recalled some. washing machines due to fire hazard.
“Our model isn’t listed (IWME126UK), yet this happened Sunday.
“Luckily was stood next to it. Check your machines!
“@WhirlpoolUK check this model and get in touch. Phoned but they claim not to hear me #Whirlpool.”
She accompanied it with a video of her machine, filled with clothes and pouring smoke.
With the washing machines, it’s pulled 519,000 Hotpoint and Indesit models from shelves over fears they could overheat and catch fire.
But shockingly, Vicci’s model WASN’T on the recall list.
Beneath her tweet, dozens of angry customers replied saying they had similar issues – and their machines weren’t on the list either.

One user claimed the same had happened to their washing machine, but they had initially just put it down to overloading the drum.
However, they also realised their machine hadn’t been marked unsafe.
Another user wrote: “I have…exactly the same problem with an Engineer booked for next week.
“The list of ‘recalled dryers’ will get bigger for sure. This is a serious problem.”
And one said they’d even had similar experiences with Whirlpool’s customer services, claiming attempts to contact them over the phone were unsuccessful.
Louise Yusuf, 48, from Meopham in Kent put on a normal wash back in April when five minutes later the machine started smoking and burst into flames.
Now, Whirlpool have revealed those with faulty machines will have to wait until January for repairs and replacements – and won’t be refunded.
The company’s website went down a day after it was released, with furious customers branding them a “disgrace.”
A spokesperson for Whirlpool told Sun Online: “Whirlpool is investigating the situation with Victoria’s appliance as a matter of urgency.
“The model is not one of those affected but it’s important that her washing machine is properly examined to determine what has happened.
“Whirlpool has arranged to carry out an inspection of her appliance at the customer’s earliest convenience.”
