Clark Contracts has been appointed by Knight Property Group to start the second phase of a speculative £4m development at Langlands Commercial Park in East Kilbride.
The work will comprise a flexible 23,980 sq ft industrial warehouse with 1,980 sq ft of office space. The unit will have 10 metre high eaves, with air conditioning, two electrically-operated roller shutter doors and electric car charging points.
Langlands Commercial Park is located within the Kelvin South and Langlands industrial areas of East Kilbride, adjacent to Sainsbury’s logistics facility.
The site is situated with frontage to the A726 Strathaven Road, linking to the town centre and Hurlawcrook Road.
It is targeting an A energy performance certificate rating, with mainframe of the building being a steel portal frame construction and features both wall and roof cladding.
The construction will include 20 car parking spaces, along with a yard extending to 35,585 sq ft.
The construction process should take seven months and is due for completion in April 2022.
Howard Crawshaw, managing director of Knight Property Group, said: “The continued strength of the industrial and logistics market in the central belt of Scotland and the enquiries thus far, particularly in Lanarkshire gave us confidence to push ahead speculatively with the second phase of this development.”
