PropTech startup Zenhomes announces that it has raised $14.5 million in its Series-A financing round.

The new investors in the financing round, which was signed on 12 August, were energy supplier EWE, Austrian company SIGNA Innovations and MOMENI Digital Ventures. The Family Office of serial entrepreneur and investor Christian Angermayer, the Apeiron Investment Group, also participated in the financing round.

Existing investors around Swiss Life, Deutsche Bank, Axa and main incubator (research and development department & early stage investor of the Commerzbank Group) underline their renewed participation with the confidence in Zenhomes and the core brand Vermietet.de. Venture capital investor Bitstone Capital and Berlin Technologie Holding (BTH) also continue to invest. The start-up thus unites the most renowned private PropTech investors under one roof. To date, Zenhomes has raised over 19 million US dollars in three financing rounds.

Zenhomes’ vision is to create an ecosystem of networked, digital platforms around the concept of living. It brings together landlords, tenants and service providers, such as craftsmen or estate agents. As the only platform in Germany, the core brand Vermietet.de already provides private landlords and property managers with integrated digital services for property management, such as rental management, asset management or building maintenance. The users profit from a seamless experience, which makes the increase of transparency possible and reduces time-consuming, repetitive tasks and success losses due to mismanagement.

Jannes Fischer, CEO and founder of Zenhomes, says: “

The real estate market is changing: Investors increasingly include young players who have modern demands on their assets. Our core brand Vermietet.de is aimed at this target group and offers us the perfect entry point to position ourselves in the future as a holistic partner for all parties involved in the real estate ecosystem”. Fischer’s ambition is clear: “Our goal is to become the leading aggregator of residential space in Germany with Vermietet.de in the coming year”. – Currently, 75,000 users manage around 225,000 residential units via Vermietet.de.

Jürgen Fenk, CEO of SIGNA Innovations and member of the Executive Board of the SIGNA Group, adds:

“The real estate industry has a lot of catch-up potential, especially in the private customer segment. Zenhomes has taken up this challenge. With its holistic approach, the company is a digitization driver for the entire industry. We are investing in the product and the clear vision: Together we are planning the first integrated digital platform for all players in the real estate industry”.

Dr. Urban Keussen, EWE’s Chief Technology Officer, is also convinced of the investment:

“The investment in Zenhomes fits perfectly into EWE’s strategy of bundling the energy and housing industries on a single platform. We were convinced by the strong organic growth and EWE shares the vision of establishing Zenhomes as the leading end-to-end PropTech platform in the market”.

Juana M. Sacristán, Managing Director of MOMENI Digital Ventures, sees great potential in the development of Zenhomes:

“The innovative strength of the Zenhomes business model has convinced us. The investment is an excellent example of the exchange of knowledge between start-ups and established companies. In this way, synergies are created that have a lasting, positive influence on the entire real estate industry.”
