AAPB bringing in Xtract One Technologies for venue security – Sports Business Journal

Xtract One Technologies has reached a three-year agreement to become the exclusive preferred supplier of the American Association of Professional Baseball (AAPB). Financial terms were not disclosed. Through the partnership, Xtract One will advise on and deploy best practices regarding security and weapon detection for the 12-team league, which said it draws 1.9 million fans per season.

Xtract One’s gateway entry security system uses AI-enabled sensors to scan patrons for guns, knives or other prohibited items without obstructing ingress unless a threat is detected. Its SmartGateway system can screen up to 2,400 patrons per hour and is estimated – by Xtract One – to reduce average time spent in security lines 2-7x compared to traditional walk-through metal detectors.

Formerly known as Patriot One Technologies (it rebranded in December of 2022) and based in Vancouver, Xtract One agreed to become the preferred security screening supplier for Oak View Group’s venues last October and in Q3 of FY23 officially completed a strategic investment of $13.4 million from Madison Square Garden Sports Corp. Through Q3 of FY23, Xtract One had booked $7.3 million of new business, a nearly 800% increase from the same period of FY22.
