S.W.A.T Season 8: Release date, renewal, latest updates, all you need to know

If a series release has shown uncertainty and popularity at the same time it is S.W.A.T, which after a long hurdle has again seen an extension for season 8, after facing cancellation twice recently. Initially, the show was supposed to come to a halt within a matter of seven seasons but the audience demand around this epic franchise played a key role in its renewal, prompting CBS to take the final call and give the green signal for season 8

S.W.A.T Season 8: Plot, cast

The popular action procedural series S.W.A.T. after the announcement by CBS will be extending its original run beyond its seventh season. Shemar Moore plays Sgt. Hondo in the 2017-based television series, that can also be considered a reboot series inspired by the 1975 TV show of the same name. S.W.A.T. revolves around a team leader who tries to balance his LAPD duties and community service. S.W.A.T. sets itself apart from other similar cop shows by ratcheting up the action as every new season passes.
According to reports, the character of Nichelle Carmichael, played by Rochelle Aytes since S.W.A.T season 3, won’t be getting a recurring role in the 8th season. The showrunners of the epic franchise, however, want to send her off with a fitting farewell and that can be possible if the character appears for a brief cameo role in the last season.
